Where a childhood memory becomes a feeling, and a feeling becomes a painting.

Some of my earliest memories of wonder come from visiting the zoo. While most animals lived behind fences, the peacocks wandered freely through the decorative flowers and pathways. To me, they were never just another attraction. They belonged there.

As a child, I believed the peacocks were the quiet guardians of beauty, wandering gracefully among the flowers while the rest of the zoo remained behind fences. Their brilliant feathers, calm confidence, and mysterious presence made the ordinary feel magical, as though they were quietly watching over every bloom.

Even today, whenever I see a rose or a peony, I am instantly carried back to those gardens. I can almost see the peacocks walking among the blossoms, bringing back that same sense of wonder—as if they were still protecting the beauty around them. That feeling has stayed with me throughout my life.

This painting is part of my Whispers of Resilience, a 3 piece mini collection. It is a tribute to the memories that quietly shape us and remind us that beauty, wonder, and hope often stay with us far longer than we realize.

This painting is my way of returning to one of those memories.

I find it. I feel it. And then I paint it.
